Most awards in the agency world honour outstanding achievement in creative direction, advertising concept, campaign effectiveness and so on. There aren’t too many that honour excellence in Re-Branding, but I was lucky to stumble upon a great resource and organization dedicated only to reviewing the merits of re-brands. The site is rebrand.com, and if you review the winners categories, you will find some amazing examples of very successful (and creative) rebrand efforts. Thanks rebrand.com!

A Stimulating Recruitment Effort

To stay ahead, Hudson LLP Chartered Accountants faces the constant challenge of recruiting the industry’s best in up and coming talent. This means placing a big emphasis on campus recruitment. Recognized as one of Calgary’s Best Places to Work, Hudson has an engaging culture and a lot to offer articling students, so when RFX was asked to develop a recruitment campaign, we had a nice head start.

After looking at the big picture, it seemed obvious that the very thing the average student relied on to get through classes was also the perfect symbol for Hudson’s energizing culture and value proposition. With an Energy Drink as a tested creative platform, RFX built a rich set of marketing collateral around the message of “stimulate your career” that conveyed the essence of their brand and resonated beautifully with their target audience. Having just launched the campaign in September ’08 the results are already in with increased attendance at information sessions and resumes to sift through. (We have an idea of what the client will be drinking in the coming months).

Spira Enlightens Oilfield With Help From RFX

With a budding list of customers and Value Added Resellers, Spira Data Corp., a provider of wireless field ticketing solutions, engaged RFX to help leverage their sales program and increase brand equity in the market.

First order of business was to identify and articulate Spira’s brand promise. This meant distilling the essence of the brand’s benefits that customers could expect at every interaction in a few succinct sentences. The result led to the corporate battle cry of Data is our passion, success is our standard™.

Next, RFX developed a creative platform around the theme of Enlightenment from which to communicate the brand promise and to infuse personality into the brand. An integrated and targeted advertising plan, consisting of print, online and out-of-home media, was established and focused around directing traffic to a campaign-specific micro site (www.wirelessfieldticking.com). Preliminary results are promising, with the microsite already driving a significant increase in traffic to Spira’s corporate site.

As a leader in its industry, Spira’s automated ticketing software provides the energy services industry with a reliable wireless and paperless field ticketing system that streamlines business processes and delivers immediate benefits to its customers’ bottom line.
